Its been a while since I posted, but with something as serious as the new European data and privacy laws going into effect, I thought now would be a great time to do an update.
Even if you haven't heard of GDPR, chances are good you've had to read or agree to an updated privacy policy on many of your favorite sites, and/or had to opt in to newsletters. That's because as of May 25, 2018, new laws go into effect that change how European citizens' data is stored and used, which is called the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR for short.
Even though I'm based in the United States, this law still effects me because I sell to European customers.
I'm no expert, but the general idea seems to be that websites and social media sites need to make it clear how your personal data is used once it is collected, give you control over how much of that data is stored, and let you control how you'd like it to be used going forward.
Here on darknesstarot.com, I only collect the data I absolutely need to ship your order. I use the web service Shopify to process purchases, so all of the data is stored on Shopify servers and processed through their service. I never sell or give anyone's information out to anyone else for any reason, and I did the very best I could to ensure darknesstarot.com is properly written to clearly explain and follow the new regulations.
At the end of the day, I'm an artist in the business of selling my tarot cards and artwork, and I'm a normal person trying to make my way through the world just like you. I respect your privacy and everything that means.
